negaliųjų sportas statusas T sritis Kūno kultūra ir sportas apibrėžtis Laikinos arba visiškos kūno ir proto negalios žmonių organizuota sportinė veikla, kurios tikslas stiprinti sveikatą, siekti geriausių sportinių rezultatų. Yra 3 lygių, kurių kiekvienas turi savo tikslą ir uždavinius: 1) gydomoji priemonė, taikoma negaliųjų reabilitacijai; 2) laisvalaikio praleidimo priemonė, masinis sportas; 3) varžybinis negaliųjų sportas. Būtina negaliųjų sporto sąlyga ir požymis – specialus vadovavimas ir medicinos priežiūra. Negaliųjų sportas atsirado XX a. pradžioje kaip fizinio aktyvumo, resocializacijos priemonė Pirmojo pasaulinio karo invalidams.
